Sr Business Development and Marketing Manager – Clinical Research

ClinSearch is a European Healthcare Organization developing innovative solutions in Clinical Research, Patient-Centered Healthcare Systems, Market Access and Public Health.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As SR BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND MARKETING MANAGER, you will lead and expand the commercial strategy of a mid-sized French CRO with international reach, an established client base, and strong growth ambitions.

In this role, your main responsibilities will include:

Strategic Leadership & Revenue Growth

  • Define and implement the global business development strategy aligned with the company’s growth objectives.
  • Drive new client acquisition and expand revenue from existing clients through account development, upselling, and cross-selling.
  • Structure and monitor the sales pipeline, forecasts, and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Proposal & Commercial Excellence

  • Oversee the preparation of high-quality, compliant budgets, proposals, and commercial responses.
  • Coordinate responses to RFIs and RFPs.
  • Enhance and streamline internal BD processes and templates.

Client Acquisition & Relationship Management

  • Lead prospection and business discussions with pharma, biotech, medtech, and institutional clients.
  • Develop and manage key client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Negotiate contracts and commercial terms.

Marketing & Visibility

  1. Coordinate the BD and marketing roadmap, including content and communication materials.
  2. Represent ClinSearch at national and international conferences and events.

Team Leadership

  • Build, mentor, and develop the BD team as the company grows.

CANDIDATE PROFILE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced degree in life sciences/healthcare (PhD, PharmD, MD, or equivalent advanced scientific degree).
  • Previous experience in Business Development, ideally within a CRO or clinical research environment.
  • Strong understanding of clinical development, evidence generation, and healthcare R&D ecosystems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex commercial cycles (prospection → qualification → proposal → negotiation → closing).
  • Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to quickly grasp client needs and propose tailored solutions.
  • Ability to work independently, set priorities, and manage multiple projects under tight timelines.
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and representing the company externally.
  • Fluent French and English (written and spoken).
